A cut will be set around the nipple and another vertical cut will be set downwards to the lower breast fold. The nipple as well as the gland tissue behind will be moved upwards, whereby the careful operation ensures that neither arteries nor veins will be affected. The attending surgeon brings the gland tissue in the right form, models it and sets it with the help of a special stitch. To sew the skin, the surgeon will use a fine and absorbable thread so that no visible scars will remain. Therefore, the thread does not have to be pulled afterwards. Possible Complications and Side Effects

The Breastlifting is a wholesome surgery and therefore cannot exclude any risks, even if they are very rare and usually limited to swellings, small bruises and light pains. After a couple of days, these will disappear. However, an entire medication is possible. Occasionally, a circulation disorder of the nipple can appear, whereas the ability to breastfeed will not be affected anyways. After the surgery, an adequate recovery phase is recommended: there should not be any kind of sports in the first couple of weeks and the usual job can be picked up after two weeks. A supportive bra such as a sports bra is highly recommended to get the breast stabilized. The final result can be seen after nine to twelve months, which is the amount of time the skin needs to form back.
